Telegraphs from St. Louis report that a treaty party had met with Indians near Fort Laramie (now Wyoming) and that the Oregon wagon train, with over 600 wagons, was still moving on after a fight with the Snake Indians. As reported in Dublin, Ireland on the 12th, the emigration mania to settle in America continues, although the fine weather points to a fine harvest; the blight of the potato disease is only partial this year, and there is an excess of flax. In the Levant, British merchantment were prepared to fire on the town of Patras after a dispute about fruit prices, reporting that brigands and pirates abound in Greece, which is in a wretched state. Meanwhile, the remains of a mastodon were discovered in a bog in Sussex County, New Jersey, and have been viewed by a large number of visitors.
