A 43-foot statue of Frederick the Great was unveiled in Berlin at the end of the street “Unter-der-Linden” earlier in September. An editorial warns that the upcoming New York State election may have an effect on the next presidential election because the opinions of the “Empire State” are regarded as representative of the country at large. Meanwhile, in New York City, two hack drivers were arrested and charged with furiously racing through the avenues uptown; they were released after paying a fine of 10 and five dollars each.
